1.Brief introduction of investment casting technology
Investment casting, also known as lost wax casting, is a casting method that uses a disposable fusible model to form castings.
Compared with other metal forming processes, investment casting products have high dimensional accuracy and fine casting surface,
which can meet the use requirements with only a small amount of processing or even no processing.
Investment casting has obvious advantages:
---Reduce the rough casting weight and save the metal materials;
---Reduce the rough casting production cost and the finished product processing cost;
-- Save the processing time and shorten the production cycle.
2. Investment casting can cast parts with very complex shape, especially for parts with complex inner cavity structure and
difficult to be realized by other processing methods, such as impeller and hollow blade, which provides design engineers with
greater design freedom.
3. The parts which go through several processes, such as stamping, panel beating, welding and machining, can be formed at one
time by investment casting, so as to save production cost and shorten production cycle.
4. Investment casting is not limited by alloy materials. Carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, super alloy, aluminum alloy,
copper alloy, magnesium alloy and titanium alloy can be produced by investment casting. Alloy materials that are difficult to
process, forge and weld are more suitable for investment casting production.
5. Investment casting is not limited by production batch. It can be produced in large batch or in small batch. For the trial
production of new products, it can be produced in a single piece by rapid prototyping.
